Why doesnt applicationComplete work in tabbed view?

Im trying to use applicationComplete in a tabbed view, why cant I do this?

I get an error while doing this.

    This is the Flash forum, not the Flex forum. But to hazard a guess, I don't think the View you're using has an applicationComplete event, only the top level Application.
