Sounds like a clogged nozzle on your printer.

Did you run the head cleaning procedure appropriate to your printer?

there should also be an alignment procedure in the driver or the utility application for your printer. else you may need to take it in to a service center.

You don't need the emphasis. I am loosing my eyesight as I age, but I can still "hear" ok. I understand the frustration.

Does this happen with every AI document, even a simple rectangle filled with just a single color?

Can you upload the file or a sample that exhibits the issue?

    Mike

    Britt,

Does it also happen if you print documents from other applications, or only documents (ultimately) from Illy?

I do not belive the Epson 1430 is a postscript printer. At least I can find absolutely no mention of postscript support on Epson's site or at 5-8 other Google results. Epson's site will customarily list postscript support if it exists. You need a postscript printer to get quality prints from Illustrator.

Save your file as a PDF and print the PDF via Reader or Acrobat. Or buy a postscript printer.

Indeed, Scott, hence the (ultimately); the brackets were to show my not PS checking.

My question was an attempt to definitely ruling out (or in) any relation to Illy.

I, or someone else might also have asked what the PDF looks like on screen (when zooming in).
