"The project appears to be damaged, it cannot be opened"

Mar 2, 2013 4:06 PM

Hi guys,

I'm in a bit of strife here. A project which I have been working on for the past month cannot be opened now as it "appears to be damaged" I am using Premiere Pro 5.5. I have no idea how to go about solving this, so help will obviously be appreciated. If it can't be opened, is there any way to save the bulk of my editing and open it in a new project?

Thanks a lot,

    ...just kidding!

Try creating a new, empty project and

    importing your troublesome project.

Of course, check your auto-saves as well.

...and maybe hopefully  have been making backups as you went along.  (incremental  "save as")

If you have problems..after Joe's are going to need them or you will be actually screwed.

Also, check your AutoSaves, to see if all of them are corrupt too, or if any Open. Note: AutoSave is FIFO, so check the dates/times, not the incremental file names/numbers.

    Good luck,
