How do you make a soft edge mash in flash professional CS6?

I am making a logo with a mask so when the mask moves over the logo it is revield and than diasappears. The problem I am having is after i create the mask and get it set up to move overtop of the logo It works the way it should,however the blur and or glow effect does not seem to work. All i see is a normal mask with hard edges moving overtop of the mask. how do I get the mask edge to soften?

    As far as I know a mask is just a shape that defines the dimensions of the visible area and not the alpha of the final pixel. I am not entirely sure if what you are trying to do can be accomplished with masks alone.

    You can create and use a soft edge mask in Flash, but you need to use Actionscript to accomplish it. Here are two examples that should help you: http://www.ddg-designs.com/downloads/gradientMasks.zip
