XDCAM .mp4 import

Mar 4, 2013 9:48 PM

So I've read multiple discissons on XDCAM but have yet to find a solution to my particular problem.

I have the raw mp4 files from xdcam which was improperly copied off (without the file structre) the memory card by the person before me. The original memory cards are gone so there's no way to re capture. Premier cs6 and FCP both can't read the files, Premier has a "no video or audio streams" Error.

I have tried to change the container to .mxf but then I get a "general error" on import. I know you can get a codec from Calibrated{Q} but I can't afford the $150 price tag. Is it as simple as me missing a codec or is there something I can do to the footage to make it readable by Premier OR FCP (I can then transcode to an intermediate codec)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Nikko
