How to migrate a dreamweaver site from CS4 to CS6

Mar 5, 2013 12:29 PM

I have a full site with design time and other information configured in Dreamweaver CS4. How can I migrate my entire CS4 site to CS6?

There is almost nothing to do. Are the two versions of DW on the same computer? If so, when you install CS6, it should pick up the site definitions and will recognize all of your old sites.

    Hello Jim,

maybe I do not understand your question correctly, but why should that be a problem when you open your files instead with CS4 now with CS6, with the best will I find hard to envisage a problem. You can continue your work exactly like before.

Is the site going to be on the same machine, or are you moving machines too?

You should be able to export the settings from CS4 in Site > Manage Sites > Export then import them in CS6 using Site > Manage Sites > Import
