I'm hoping it's because I have a trial version of InDesign. When I export from InDesign to EPUB 2.0.1
I'm following instructions from this video, but all I get is an empty file. No error message, just the blank file.
I'm trying to test how anchors work for layout in an ebook.
Is it because it is the trial version? I'm hoping so, but if not, any thoughts on what am I missing?
Thanks in advance,
Joan
I have "view after export" checked. It opens in Text Edit.
Though I have emailed the document and got an error trying to view it iBooks.
I'm using a trail of CS6 Web and Design Premium. Mac Pro OS 10.8
I am getting an error message about missing fonts and that it will substitute (arial), but I get that on all my exports (PDF and I'm fine with the substitute). Also, I have photos in the chapter, so even if it didn't like the text - at all - I would think the photos would be in the export.
I'm at a loss what to check/do.
Any diretion would be great.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Best,
You need to learn more about creating EPUB files. You also need a real EPUB reader.
You can download Adobe Digital Editions for free:
http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions.edu.html?promoid=DTEIO
It reads EPUB files. iBooks is OK but there are reasons it may reject a file which is a perfectly valid EPUB file.
I'd suggest Liz Castro's EPUBs about creating EPUBs in InDesign:
