I am hoping someone might help me with this:
Whenever I attempt to make a new master page InDesign CS6 crashes. An error message pops up, saying: "Adobe Indesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected..."
I saw a different thread, which explained that deleting my preferences might help. I tried it, but it hasn't helped.
Any help is much appreciated!
Is this happening with any document, or one particular file? Are you basing the master on another? How far into the process do you get?
Is this Windows, or Mac? Soounds like a Windows error message....
Are you patched to the 8.0.1 update?
It happens with any document. I'm working on a book cover, and it happens when I attempt to make a new master for the spine (which has a different width than the other master page). I'm not basing it on another master, and I get up to the point of clicking "create new master" and then the error message pops up.
I'm working on a Mac, on the 8.0 version of inDesign cs6.
I've updated it now, and it seemed to work when I tried it on a new document. However when I went to my previous document to create a new master, the problem appeared again. And now it won't work on new documents either.
