Discretionary hyphen and non-breaking hyphen in Word disappears when imported to InDesign

I have a text in Word 2007 with several discretionary hyphens and non-breaking hyphens. When I import the text to InDesign through 'Place' those hypens dissapears.

  • words with discretionary hyphen are now broken at another place than where I put the hyphen in Word: Long-breaking-words could become: Longbreak-ingwords.
  • non-breakting hyphens disappaer, and is not replace with space or another hypen: This-is-a-very-long-word becomes Thisisaverylongword

What should I do to force InDesign to keep the hyphens?
