Photoshop Elements 5 Organizer Recovery

In Photoshop Elements 5, how do I restore my organizer tags and collects after reloading Windows XP?  Windows crashed but i can run in Safe Mode to get at my files/pictures which are backed up but is there something in Photoshop I can save to recover my organizer so that when reloading Windows XP and the App again the tags and collections remain?

    Are you able to run Organizer? If yes, then you may take backup of your catalog using File >> Backup.

    This backup file will bring in all your images, tags, albums and their associations to these files.

    I am only able to run Windows in Safe Mode.  Can't run Organizer.  If that is required first, then I may have lost all the organization.  I had hoped there were some files already saved that contain that information.

    Yes, you can try to recover your catalog file while in Safe Mode. It is *.psa, you would have to search your hard disk(s) for it, and also instruct Windows XP to search in hidden folders.

    Thank you.  I will give this a try.  I assume once i recover Windows and re-load Adobe, I can then copy back this *.psa file in the same location(s)?

    Yes, put the photos back to their EXACT original locations. The *.psa file can go anywhere, then doubleclick on it.

    Yes, saving the PSA file worked great, I have all my photos still organized and in their collections after recovering my computer OS and files.
