I running a broken link check and DW says I have 700 broken, and 300 orphan. But I then check and nothing is wrong with most of those pages.
What is the difference orphan/ broken?
Anyway, I'm flustered. Should I try to find a 3rd party software that does this better in a clear interface? thanks.

Orphaned files are pages or images that are not in use or linked to from any place within your site. Although having orphaned files isn’t necessarily a problem, to ensure that you don’t have important files that are orphaned, choose Orphaned Files from the Show menu under the Link Checker section of the Results panel.
Kevin, I would recommend 3rd party software and testing this after your page is on the internet. If you are trying to find broken links Google Webmaster Tools will provide you with a basic listing, but tools like Raventools ( http://raventools.com/ ) or SEOMoz ( http://www.seomoz.org/ ) have crawling bots that can perform the specific task of crawling your site and finding the 404 links.
Marray, is there a great Mac software for this? Not a fan, Snake, of Google-- not sure where to find seomoz, you can spend days getting lost on their site.
Murray should I PM you? REally is just says tons of pages have broken links, I go to the page, no broken link. I can PM you if you have the energy to see what I'm talking about.
Sorry Murray, you know I don't post my website page here as I don't like having my real name listed, —but I will PM you. Still what can I say? DW list tons of pages that supposedly have broken link, but there are none then I check. Also the window us very ugly. I try Mac forums now.
