JPEG enhancement in Fireworks?

This may not make any technical sense, but are there enhancementts that FIrewire can make to a JPEG that will make it more suitable for the web? Like, make it brghter or sharper or appear to be more hi-def? THanks!

    Have you tried exploring filters (a.k.a. live effects)? If you select the bitmap on the canvas, you should see a Filters menu in the Properties panel, at the bottom right. You might also try the Image Editing panel.
