I have tried moving TWAIN.plugin, but to no avail. Tried to install old driver; won't install 'powerpc format'.
Thanbks Barbara, but I have talked to the techs at Epson already. The only thing that seems to be missing is the TWAIN.plugin from Adobe. I was running PSCSII, but the TWAIN.plugin from that is not compatible with MACOS 10.8. Adobe says NOT to move any TWAIN.plugins from Optional folders to Support folders, but as I don't have TWAIN in either one, Where do I get TWAIN.plugin?
I don't know who at adobe told you that, since that's the only way to make any scanner work in PSE on any platform. Just move the whole importmodules folder from Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 11>Support Files> optional plugins to Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 11>Support Files> plugins.
However, if it's an older scanner this may still not work. Can you scan okay in Preview.app?
Thanks Barbara. I had already moved that. Still the same. Some tech at Adobe named Max with a heavy Indian accent told me not to move any TWAIN plugins. I have the incident number here. They were of no help at all. I really don't want to get rid of the scanner as it scans up to 12kdpi with incredible consistency and accuracy to color. But it looks like I will have to do so. It does scan in Preview, but only up to 6.4kdpi.
Well, it sounds like you would need to replace it for maximum compatibility with 10.8, and then what you get may not work in PSE unless it's TWAIN compatible (which is a dying technology), so I don't really have any bright suggestions for you. There are some third party scanner drivers, like vuescan, that might help (can't say for sure since I don't use any of them so can't test with PSE), but they cost about as much as a new scanner, so....
