This is my first flash website, so I might be missing something stupid.
I creted a form with a name, email and comment window. I coded it to tab through, and have a submit button with feedback (thank you for your responce) etcat the end. All looks well but when I test it by the trace statement, it doesnt work.
The I wrote the following two lines in the same file to test it:
var myName:String = "Charlie";
This did not work in my flash file for my website, BUT it does trace to the output window it I paste it into a new blank file. What does my big website file have that prevents it from tracing? It tests with no errors and everything looks great.
I wish it was that but "omit trace statements" is not checked. See screenshot below.
Is there anything else I can check?
Also, I copied my entire website flash file, deleted ALL the actionscript and other frames and just inserted the small trace statement that worked in a new document. Even though it works in a new document, it still does not work in my website file.
I think it must be a publish setting or something other than what is in the timeline.
Thanks for being willing to take a look.
Short of solving tthis properly, I'll have to copy and paste the entire thing in a new file, just to get it tracing. And then I'll never learn where I made my mistake.

Thanks for taking a look, kglad.
I'm going to write some php to see if data is sent to my email. If that works, I'm happy.
Still can't understand why it will not trace on my two PCs though, but I'm really glad it works for you.
Thanks a bunch for your help.
