Simple trace statement doesn't work

Mar 18, 2013 2:24 PM

This is my first flash website, so I might be missing something stupid.

I creted a form with a name, email and comment window. I coded it to tab through, and have a submit button with feedback (thank you for your responce) etcat the end. All looks well but when I test it by the trace statement, it doesnt work.

The I wrote the following two lines in the same file to test it:

var myName:String = "Charlie";

trace(myName);

This did not work in my flash file for my website, BUT it does trace to the output window it I paste it into a new blank file. What does my big website file have that prevents it from tracing? It tests with no errors and everything looks great.

Please help

    check your publish settings to ensure you have not checked "omit trace statements".

    When the traces are failing are you testing on the server or in Flash?
