stamp tool

i can´t use my stamp tools in photoshop elements 9.0 - I get a program error message. When I choose the stamp pattern I have no problems.

    At the far left end of the options bar is a very tiny triangle. Click it and choose Reset Tool.

    I have reset tool, but I still get an error program message! I have

    looked for manual on using stamp tool - I have an early version of CS

    where I have to hold the left button of the mouse using stamp tool - is

    it the same procedure in elements 9.0 - or have I misunderstand something?

    If you are using the clone stamp tool, try this:

     

    On the tool's option bar, check "sample all layers",

    Press ALT+left click to define the source pixels, release, then left click where you want to deposit.
