Cant see video effects in program monitor in CS6

Mar 19, 2013 7:36 AM

Hoping someone can help me on this one....This is the senario

I have a clip on the timeline...scrubs fine in program monitor....

I apply a video effect to the clip...double clip...bring it up in source monitor to adjust

Now the program monitor goes blank (as soon as I drag the effect on top of the clip)

WHen I go to efffects monitor and try and adjust the effect...nothing shows up in pgm monitor (remains black)

I I then render the clip...I will show up fine in the program montor...

However I cant see the effect until its rendered...

Very frustrating....I have tried everything from reinstalling Cs6....rebooting...try other clips, etc.

Obviously Im missing something

Many thanks for any help or direction

Nick

    Nick,

When one encounters a GUI display issue, the first recommend course of action is to update the video driver. That might, or might not solve the issue, but it does get one of the main causes out of the way early.

What video card do you have, make and model?

What is the installed video driver, number and date? Is that the latest from AMD/ATI, or nVidia?

Also, and especially if that does not fix the problem, you will want to answer the questions posed in this FAQ Entry: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/961741?tstart=0

    Good luck,

    Hunt

    Nick,

    You are most welcome.

That is always my Step 1, and if not successful, then I move on from there.

    Good luck,
