How do I get the 4.2 lightroom update for the Mac

Hi I am having problems updating to Lightroom 4.2 on my Mac.There doesn't seem to be a patch, it has been suggested that you need uninstal 4.1 and reinstal the complete 4.2 version, is this correct?

Yes, LR updates always contain the full program, so just installing 4.2 or 4.3 would work.
