Exporting from Premiere to Youtube. Following the Youtube guidelines but still poor quality.

Hi

It looks to me like I'm doing everything right but I the uploaded video is very pixelated. I've been uploading it to Vimeo following their guidelines and it looks great there so there nothings wrong with the quality on the web. I'm even getting a message saying it's bad quality and asks if I want it improved.....

    Try a YouTube preset. More info here: http://helpx.adobe.com/media-encoder/using/encode-export-video-audio.h tml#encode_using_presets

    Thanks for a quick response.

    What I've read these presets aren't always the best alternative but it's certainly worth a try.

    I've exported it in 1080 before so I'm trying 720 now. Premiere told me not to when I tried to

    change it to 1080.

    Exporting now so we'll see after a while.

    Turn off  'Use Previews" i yourexport settings.

    Ok, I usually don't turn the "Use previews" on. What is the difference?

    The Youtube preset didn't work eithrt but I have to try without the "Use previews"

    too.

     

    I'm not familiar with these presets and I've been starting from the Youtube preset and

    then changed a few things. Maybe I should start with the 1080 High qulity preset and

    go from there. Am I stupid here when thinking it doesn't matter when you customize

    it anyway.
