remove gradient?

Mar 24, 2013 4:45 AM

After I add a gradient to a shape etc how do I remove it and just have a plain fill?  I am having trouble with this.  It seems the only way is to add a new stop to the gradient, make it the same colour as one of the other stops then remove the other one thats different.  Then after that I can edit the fill.  Seems really long winded.  Is there another way?

    Arrakis,

Are you saying that you cannot change it by selecting the object and the Fill box in the Toolbox and then clicking the Color box below it to the left?

Which version of Illustrator are you using?

Go back to the regular swatch palette and out of the gradient palette > just select whatever fill there.  You could even select "None" as the fill and keep the stroke.
