Brand new machine, brand new install of CS6!!! I swear I give up with computers! Nothing ever works right!!!!
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
Lots of good troubleshooting and several possible solutions in this topic:
It looks like it is the GoPro "Interpret Footage" to a different frame rate thing others have mentioned. No problem with the video portion but as soon as you introduce the slowed audio the problems start. I'm not sure it is necessarily specific to GoPro footage but it's a popular enough camera that I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing this as well. Oddly, you can leave the error dialogue open and continue working (I wouldn't recommend this, at least try to save first!).
This is copied and pasted from a reply to another post.
As for the audio prefetch error, to make a nested sequence show an audio waveform, you use the Clip menu and select Audio Options > Render and Replace.
The prefetch error in some cases is connected to a file with an interpreted frame rate, so could you use the Render and Replace option to fix this? You will be making a new audio file at your interpreted frame rate so hopefully the problem will not occur.
Andrew, thanks for this info! I wasn't aware that you could have premiere create a new rendering like this. good to know. One of the other side affects of interpreting footage at different frame rates is that the audio goes completely out of sync. You might think that it would slow down at the same rate but I guess maybe since for video we're talking frames and for audio it's more about sampling rates. Maybe this might even fix this. Not that having audio that slow becomes entirely useful at that point, it's more comical.
