I really REALLY miss the option to unlock an object with a shortcut... Having to click on that little lock icon is a PITA. Specially when there are other locked objects above it or when the object is small and I can't really access that little icon...! Unfortunately there isn't a menu command for unlocking a single object... Is there any other way to get this done? Maybe through a script or something? I use the unlock option every day and it's my main annoyance with CS6...
Er... I see no option to unlock things with a keyboard shortcut instead of with that little icon in the preferences...? If you are talking about the option that let's you select locked objects or not, then that's a complete different thing and what I am having problems with.
Aaaaah, awesome!!! Found it! I didn't expect having the possibility to assign a shortcut because the unlock command (for a single object) isn't in the Object menu at all...! But it indeed is there when you edit the shortcuts.
Thanks for the quick replies: you made my day!
Ah, LOL, so THAT was what you meant...!!! You said this indeed: "Then you need to make a custom shortcut set and add the shortcut of your choice to the Unlock command. It's listed in the Object Menu product area and has no default keys assigned." But I thought you were talking in that last sentence about the Object menu ITSELF! And when I looked there, I didn't see an Unlock command so I simply thought you were somehow mistaken (stupid me). Now I understand you meant the Object menu area in the Shortcut setup menu... My bad... sorry! As I said it didn't occur to me that the shortcut edit menu would contain MORE options than you can actually see in the InDesign menu's (which IS rather odd imho).
