I would like to transfer three original files to another photographer. I remember that browsers to not like RAW, TIFF or DNG files, so how can I transfer them, using Dreamweaver as an FTP tool to put them on my web site host so my friend can download them?
Great, thank you. It works for TIFF and JPG which show as images in the browser, but the DNG file will take some more steps. It shows in the browser as digital hieroglyphics. I presume it needs a DNG file reader like Photoshop, but I don't know how to get it there. How do I download it so that it becomes a file on my desktop so that I can open it with PS?
There is nothing like a challenge to learn new stuff. I use a Mac and thought I would have to use a zipping application like Stuffit to zip the files and was thinking about that overnight. It turns out that it was less complicated, quite simple and required only a Control + click for the Mac to "compress" the file by adding a .zip on the end of the DNG file. I did so and uploaded the file and now it miraculously downloads to my download folder, ready for opening in a DNG processor like ACR or Aperture or Iridient Developer. I feel like a real developer now, telling my friend photographer to download a DNG. J
Thank you very much for you help.
