Using 'Copy Motion as XML' with a Motion Tween

My problem is as follows:

  • I create a movieclip on stage
  • I create a Motion Tween for the movie clip
  • I select the layer and all the frames on timeline
  • I use Commands -> Copy Motion as XML

However, the XML copied only contains the first <Keyframe> declaration. If I convert the Motion Tween to a Frame by Frame animation and then use Copy Motion, it works. But reading this page: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/mot ionXSD.html I understand this should be possible with Motion Tweens too.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or is this a bug?

Thank you in advance!

Here is a tutorial from Adobe, back when it was introduced.

(that's copy motion as as3 which is what the op should use if they want to use a motion tween.)

copy motion as xml is best used for classic tweens.

if you want to use a motion tween, use export as actionscript.
