I am wondering why it is taking so long to stop this spambot, it has been continuously dumping spam here for last half hour.

    Hi Branko,

did you give our views a greater voice by using this:

what means something like: "report abuse".

It's not that easy to stop spammers, and they're on every forum I participate in. I'm sure the DW mods would love to figure out a way to keep them out.

    Hi Murray,

they are already deleted now, probably due to our various messages.

    Hello Branko,

oddly, probably you need such a thing only for Germans! Honi soit qui mal y pense!

Not "The" Garter, but something like this I think. In this way I could reconstruct it to some extent:

Or should we better have maintained it? BUT if not, what's about mine and Branko's different menus. Isn't this needed to put it into a wishform?

    Hi,

you are right and in all these cases the mods acted fast, when I used the menu from above. I would recommend everyone to do so.

The "Report abuse" link shown by Hans-Günter should normally appear in the location he indicated. However, it refers to the whole thread (or the original post if there's only one post in the thread). To report individual posts as spam (or any other type of abuse), click the Report link at the top right of the post you want to report:

    report_abuse.jpg

When several people (I think it requires three to do it) report the same post, it's automatically hidden from view. Even if only one person reports it, a moderator will usually see the report and take action very quickly. There are moderators in all parts of the world helping to combat spam, but it's an uphill battle.

I have seen the result of moderation here in the Adobe forums and I have to say they're quick and pretty efficient.

It's a pretty thankless task and I'm very appreciative. Keeps the Adobe forums very useful.
