I have purchased a Nikon D600 and was having trouble opening my RAW pictures. I followed all directions, downloaded the DNG converter and still can't open my pictures. What am I doing wrong?
Did you download DNG Converter 7.3? As a general rule, you should always use the latest version. I don't know why Adobe provides all the old ones.
You didn't say which version of CS. You may need to setup DNG Converter to be backwards compatible. Open the program, click on Change Preferences, and check the Compatibility setting.
Did you download your raw files using an old copy of Nikon Transfer? This is know to render some cameras' files unreadable in Camera Raw. This was fixed in the latest version of Nikon Transfer.
I am having this same issue. I am unable to see preview thumbnails of my NEF files in bridge. I have tried to use the DNG converter for the NEF files but the tool doesn't even see the NEF files when I select the folder where their located. Interestingly I am able to view all the NEF files in Lightroom, and the lightroom version of Camera Raw says its 7.3 which doesn't appear to be available from the adobe website.
Everything is CS6
Windows 7 x64
Bridge Version - 184.108.40.206 x64
Lightroom Ver - 4.3
Camera Raw V - 7.3
Photoshop Ver - 13.0.1 x64
Camera Raw v 220.127.116.114
Camera - Nikon D5200
From Bridge, when I go to Edit>Camera Raw Preferences, I get this error:
Heres my screenshot from Bridge showing the NEF files with no preview:
Please help, I need to start editing!!!
