I upgraded from PE9 to PE11, PC to Mac. To convert the PE9 catalog on the Pc before I moved, I downloaded a trial of PE11. I now have moved over to Mac and want to delete the Pe11 off my conpouter (and more importantly the extra 50gb catalog and space its taking up)
If I go into PE11, only one catlog shows, so I cant delete it.
If I go into PE9, only one catalog shows so I cant delete it.
When I installed PE 11, it swallowed up 50gb in creating a new catalog.
I unistalled PE11 but my hard disk space is still down 50gb.
Where can I delete the extra catalog?
The two catalog are likely both stored in the same parent folder. Just navigate to the folder and delete them both in one fell swoop (the file location can be found by going to Help > System Info).
Thanks Brett -
I went into the help anbd located the path for the catalog.
However, that path didnt list either catalog - there was just a placeholder file.
The conversion sucked up 50Gb of hard drive on the conversion, and also lost all the dates on my avi's. Deleting duplicate catalogs should be much easier.
I had to had to offload 40 gb of data, so I could give the computer to my daughter to use. However Adobe hides the catalogs - I have no idea.
I might sound bitter here - but this program has been less rewarding with each relesase ... and I've had it since Adobe 2
Thanks for the reply though - appreicated much!
Need more info on:
' there was just a placeholder file.' - What do you mean by placeholder file? Aren't you seeing 'catalog.pse11db' or 'catalog.pse9db'.
'The conversion sucked up 50Gb of hard drive on the conversion' - What was the size of your E9 catalog? Ideally there shouldn't be any significant difference in size of both catalogs. Just to add here, when you convert your catalog, the images (that are imported into the older catalog) aren't copied again, just a new catalog folder (with some files) gets created.
Please let me know if you need more info.
