I am viewing a document in Adobe Reader X with email addresses in it. When I try to click on the addresses to send the address an email nothing happens - it sees that it's a mailto link but it won't open an email.
Thanks in advance for the help!
How was that document created?
Do you have the same problem with the email link in the attached test document?
Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not sure how the document was created....Someone sent it to me. Yes, I have the same issue with the document you sent. It sees the link but won't open the mail.
What is your operating system? What is your email client?
How is your Adobe Reader set up for emails (Edit | Preferences | Email accounts)?
I'm using Windows 7 and Thunderbird is my email client. I don't see email accounts as an option in edit - preferences....
Not sure, maybe this is new in Reader XI?
It says I'm running 10.1.6 and that there are no updates available....am I missing something?
The latest Reader version is 11.0.2; you can download it from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Ok, so I've downloaded the other version, and now I see email accounts in preferences and I have default mail program selected, and its still not opening an email I really appreciate your time!
Is Thunderbird running when you click on that email link?
Does it open an email message from other programs, e.g. Word?
Yes thunderbird is running. It opens mail in other programs - yes.
Sorry, I have no other ideas. I do not have Thunderbird, and opening an email link works fine for me with Microsoft Outlook, as well as Windows Live Mail.
