I did a system restore and now Elements won't work. I re installed the program from the disc and it still won't work. It gives the error message the Elements has unexpectedly quit whenever I try to open the editor. The program worked fine until the restore. The restore point i choose was long after the original install and shouldn't have messed anything up. When I originally installed Elements, I put it on my slave drive. When I re insalled it, I put it on a larger drive.
Restore might have messed things up. Try re-installing Elements and then check.
If you do not have the installers for the version of Elements you are using, try looking for the same here. http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl
Make sure to backup your catalog first. http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/backup-restore-move-catal og-photoshop.html
You want what widows says or what adobe says? I'll give you both, I've seen them enough times now to have them memorized. Adobe says what I said up there- "adobe elements has unexpectedly quit" That's all it says. The windows crash message says "NVIDIA display driver has unexpectedly stopped working. Windows has recovered." I mean, that may not be word-for-word what it says, but it pretty much is.
I wish people would stop telling me to do the obvious. I have ALREADY DONE EVERYTHING ANYONE WITH A BRAIN WOULD THINK TO DO! I've undated the driver, I've opened the side of my computer and messed with the actual video card to see if it was loose, I've reinstalled almost every piece of software I own multile times. I've done the windows disc scan thing that cleans your hard drive. I've have a disc version of adobe bought earlier this year and have reinstalled it multiple times, Organizer works, editor doesn't. I'm done here, thanks for trying to help but I'm not computer illiterate. In fact, I got it working days ago, I just continued the thread to see if anyone would actually answer my question for anone else who may encounter the same problem. You want the big answer? Turn the computer off again after the reinstall. Adobe does not prompt you to restart your computer after the install but you need to. Dumb, I know. I felt real dumb. But I was suffering from no sleep, what's your excuse?
