CS3 Master Collection installer asking for a nonexistent optical drive letter

Apr 2, 2013 4:46 AM

Tags: #cs3 #installation_location #drive_letter

I'm trying to install Illustrator from the installation disk. The installation requests that Disk 1 be inserted into drive L. My optical drive letters are D and G. How can I coerce the program to use an actual dvd/cd drive?

if you have any software mounted drives, you could try removing those.

or, you could work around the problem by downloading the installation files:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here. html

if you dl the trial, you must follow all 7 steps.  your serial number will activate.

The 404 means you have not followed the Very Important Instructions on the prodesigntools page before clicking the download links.

The 7 steps are crucial for setting the correct cookies on your hard drive so that the Adobe servers will grant you access to the download files when you click the links.

    So:

    1. Go back to http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here. html
    2. Follow the Very Important Instructions (Step 0 to Step 6 = 7 Steps)
    3. Then click the download links and they will work.

the links all work IF you read and follow each of the 7 steps.

so again, read each of the 7 steps and then follow each of the 7 steps.
