I just took over a project with various text frame dimensions; I wish to make them all the same; which are best dimensions for standard 8.5 x 11 documents? Some of the frames are w 6.5, h 9.0 with the 1.0 offset on top and bottom. The header and footer ones read w 6.5, h 0.5, with a top offset of 10.0; the page number is very close to the text. I'm having trouble getting a neat aesthetic. Thanks anyone.

What are the delivery modes?

If print, what are the print regions of the likely printers, and do you need to allow for 3-hole punching?

If end users will be printing, their printers are usually more constrained on top & bottom margins.

We have a 0.7 in inside margin for 3-hole, and a 0.6 in outside. In addition to allowing 3-hole, this usually allows A4 printing without rescaling.

We keep all content at least 0.5 in away from top and bottom edge, and material content at least 0.625 in away. This allows for minimum loss when end user duplex print on inkjet printers.
