Font Licensing question

We hired a communications company to design our brochures. We would like them to send us the InDesign files so that we can make changes to the product as updates need to be made. But they are telling us they cannot send us the fonts, as per the End-User Licence Agreement. I tried to find a section in the agreement that supports their claim but cannot. What are the rules? If we purchase InDesign as well, shouldn't we be able to use those fonts?

    It depends on if they used fonts bundled with InDesign. They are correct, though, that you need to have your own license for any fonts they used if you want to do updates. Will they send you a list of the fonts? Will then send you the .indd files without the fonts?
