Black bars in Encore using ADL

Apr 6, 2013 3:36 AM

Hey all,

Wondering if there has been a solution found for the inability to scale to fit function when a project is taken into Encore from PP?

Im getting black bars on the sides of my image & Ive noticed from old posts this has been a problem in the past which I was hoping was resolved. It seems when I Dynamicly Link to PP & use custom encode options the scale to fit doesnt work?

Any ideas?

Lach

Does it work if you do not use Dynamic Link?

As of CS6, you want the "scale to fill," not scale to fit. Scale to fit leaves a small black band.

The problem in part has been getting the "automatic" setting in Encore to work like this.

    Do you have CS6?

Yes Im on CS6 & i am using scale to fill but no joy unfortunately.

Are you using automatic? Or a designated preset? Do you see your preset in the transcode setting column in project panel? (Image from CS4, but I think the essence is the same.)

Then you are not actually selecting the preset. Once you are out of the "Edit Quality Preset" window, you must then select that preset.

Another CS4 screenshot, but still the same. This is the "Transcode Settings" window (with the project panel behind). To the Transcode Settings window, to the right, you can see the "Edit Quality Presets" button that takes you to the same window you can also access from File -> Edit Quality Presets. Until you select a preset, it does not change.

If the custom preset is correct, that should work. Good luck!
