I recently upgaded from an older version of Adobe Premiere Elements 4 to Premiere Elements 11. Now I am unable to capture HDV with my camera.
After researching the Adobe website I found Premiere Elements 11 does not support my Canon XHA1 video camera. The Canon XHA1 is supported by Premiere Elements 4, but Premiere Elements 4 does not play well with Window's 7 (hence, the reason for the upgrade to 11).
Is there any chance I can request the XHA1 to be added as a supported device?
Very interesting. I already tried to request a change using the feature request form but it wouldn't let me log in for some reason.
I just now tried the first thing you suggested (changing the driver to "legacy") and surprizingly it works well enough to recognize my camera as a capture device now. Unfortunately, it does not show video in the capture window but it is capturing HDV video. I am good with that! I really want to see how well the software burns high def footage to standard DVD's.
Thanks for your help!
