Can a text box or frame be set to snap to document grid?

Hello my fellow helpful InDesign professionals,

Will InDesign CS5 allow a text box or frame to snap to a document grid? I have it selected here:

When I add a text box or frame it does not snap to the document grid. According to the Adobe online help I should be able to set a 'snap to zone' for an object.

1) The snap to zone only indicates guides, yet the online help indicates this will work for grids to. Is it for both or only guides?

2) When it refers to objects does that include everything (text boxes, frames, ect?)

Thanks so much!

So, your text boxes are not snapping to the document grid, but are they snapping to your guides still?

Snap To should work both for guides and for document grids. If you can see the Document Grid and if you have Snap to Document Grid turned on, it should be working.

If it is not, try restoring your InDesign preferences. Here's how you can do that:
