Replace CS5 with CS6 when CS5 is part of a school package?

I've got a macbook from school that I have to give back at the end of the year to be re-imaged with Adobe CS5 because they have a package. Am I allowed to download CS6 and at the end of the year put it on a hard drive for the next year?

You would have to qualify and buy the educational version of CS6.  There is no upgrades in educational packages.

You can take the download files and burn to a DVD.  THen install later.  This is recommeded for any downloaded software in case accidents happen and you have to reinstall.

You can have 2 activated copies, but only use one at a time.   If it is your own copy be sure to deactivate and uninstall before returning computer, otherwise it is considered in use by you.

Is there a reason why you can't buy the application in the box rather than downloading it?
