I have a document with many Chinese mixed in with the English. Unfortunately the conversion from Word always remove some of the characters' formatting. It is time consuming to search for the square boxes with a cross manually, anybody know a method to search for characters with no font?
There seems to be no option in find/change to choose no font/none like it does with the character styles and paragraph styles.
This isn't a problem of no font, all text has a font assigned, but rather that the font in question does not have the correct glyphs. You can solve this using Find/Change to look for text formatted with your font (if I remember, you are using Arno Pro) and the Unicode range of the missing glyphs, which you add as a class in a GREP query, if my memory is correct, then change to your character style that should assign a font that does contain the required glyphs.
I don't know the correct range, but I do know this has been covered here more than once, and one good palce to start would be http://forums.adobe.com/message/3728352#3728352
You can do a forum search for Chinese Unicode to find other potetially relevant threads.
