When aquiring video the PE11 programme seems to identify my camers as a MicrosoftDV camera and VC and I get a message saying ' Your current camera settings is different from your project settings Results may not be optimized' .
However I can capture the video and it seems OK.
How do I check and optimize the settings referred to and what are they?
I am using a firewire card.
I am running Win7 64 bit.
The camera is six years old and I cannot find if any new software is required for the PC.
Hi John T Smith,
My camera will only record standard definition DV but will do so in widescreen which is the setting I am using.
My project is set accordingly but I notice in 'Project Settings/General' that the frame size is set at 1920 x 1080 and cannot be changed and the editing mode is set at HD 1080i and also cannot be changed.
I am using HD output from my graphics card ( AMD Radeon 6450) to an HD capable Monitor, does this have any bearing?
I would go back to New Project, and change the settings to DV NTSC (unless you are in PAL-land), Widescreen 16:9 w/ 48KHz Audio.
That HD Project is why you got the error message about mis-matched footage to settings.
Hi Bill and Steve,
I had not been into the new project settings, I have now done so and made the relevant changes. The settings were for HD as suggested and also NTSC ( I am in PAL-Land). I am pretty confident this will do the trick.
The camera is a Canon MVX350i Mini Tape. ( looks like an extra 'S' got in there on my discussion heading) connecting via firewire.
It is midnight here now so I think I will try a new project tomorrow.
Many thanks for the advice.
