I am unable to open PDF files from Dreamweaver, however I can access a PDF from my share drive. I am using the Microsoft Office 7 Operating System, CS6 DreamWeaver and Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I can map to the links and preview. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Karen
A part of my initial request, I stated that I already have the Acrobat X Pro software. The error message I receive states, "Can't find a valid editor for this file extension. How do I resolve?
Thanks for addresing.
To clarify, I am able to open a PDF documents in all environments except Dreamweaver. I attempted to bind the file extension using the steps you outlined, along with our technician and it did not resolve the error message. The technician also reinstalled Acrobat and Dreamweaver and unfortunatley, I am having the same experience. Do you have another recommendation as I am seeking a solution.
I am posting a PDF event flyer on the website, like I have done for the past five years. :-) On Dreamweaver, I have a list of site files that are PDF documents. When I receive an flyer update, I check to view that it is the revised document by double clicking the PDF file and I review the content. I am unable to view the PDF file hosted on the CS6 version of Dreamweaver, however I have been able to execute in previous versions. I can view the PDF via the browser for the CS6 version. Is it by design that I am unable to open a PDF document, when having Acrobat installed, while using CS6 Dreamweaver?
1. Go to Edit-->Preferences
2. In the left column go to File Types/Editors
3. If '.pdf, is not in the list of extensions, click the add button to add
4. In the editors section, click the add button and choose the program
5. Save and restart DW
