Premiere Elements randomly crashing

Apr 19, 2013 2:58 PM

Hi there,

I have just purchased Elements 11 and i finding it frustrating to use.

When i try and publish and share i get a crash at 49% everytime.

I then tried to render first. However when doing this i checked render details and it says FREE DISKSPACE: 55.8gb

I have 55.8GB left on my c:/ drive.

However, the folder i save the render to is a 3TB drive.

I have a windows 8 machine.

3.2ghz i5

16gb RAM

The render was 720p

No Codec

I don't have quicktime installed i have have succesfully rendered before

Any tips or advice for me.

Thanks,

Oliver

What is on your Timeline at that point? Is there perhaps a gap in the Video, that is not covered by other Video on a higher Track?

Are you certain that the Render Files (in the Media Cache) are directed to your 3TB HDD? The default is "Same As Project," but can be changed to almost any location on the computer.

I would also look over this FAQ Entry on PrE Crashing & Hanging: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792580?tstart=0. It starts with a checklist on getting PrE to run best, then goes into tuneup tips for the computer and the OS, and finishes with a troubleshooting guide, with plenty of tips and some tools to help track down the problem. Be sure to see "Clean, Lean, Mean Editing Machine," and "Finding Clues."

    Good luck,

I would post a screen-cap of your Timeline, and then maybe identify the Clips, so that we know what the Clips are.

    Good luck,

OK, what are the full specs. of that Clip, and what are the Project's Settings?

Might be a clue in that info.

    Good luck,

There are several recent threads about crashes with Dxtory mateiral. This one contains links to some of the others: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5172696#5172696

Thanks for that info, and good luck,
