I placed an MTS file in the source monitor, then moved the video and audio onto the timeline. I am not able to hear any audio(in source monitor or preview area), even though the audio shows in the audio meters on the right panel. I am able to hear audio when played in the camera and when I play the raw MTS file in Windows Media Player, so there is audio in the original MTS file. The clip was shot in 1080-60P. It has been a while since I used PPro CS6, but have never had this problem before. Any ideas?
Yes, I did wait until the orange bar at the lower left was complete, but I started to work right after that. The video was shot at 1080-60P, which is the first time I've used that, so maybe it takes a bit longer. Jim, the file is about an hour long, so I might try to trim it down and see if I can make that work. I will still need to make the whole clip work though. I won't get to try that for a few days, but will report back after that.
the file is about an hour long
That could be an issue.
Now I am really confused. I found a short test shot (MTS file) that I saved as an AVI file using PPro CS6. That was a few days ago (I know I said it had been quite a while ago, but I forgot about the test shot). That MTS file worked the way it should (video and audio). When I just loaded it up into PPro, the audio would not play. That means something happened between last Tuesday and today. Is there a setting somewhere that I can check? There is no audio coming from the program at all even though the audio output green bars on the lower right show that it should be working. I really don't want to have to uninstall the program.
Never mind. I found the problem. I had installed a Black Magic Intensity Pro card plus Wirecast software. Somehow it changed the audio output to the card. All is well now. I guess I just needed to see it in my own writing for it to click. Thanks for the help guys.
