I have a project that I have created that consists of two timelines.
Timeline 1 is intended to play to end, then link to Timeline 2 and continue playing.
I have already set the End Action of Timeline 1 to be Timeline 2, and it is currently playing as expected.
What I am anticpating is the instance where the end-user is viewing the DVD, it finishes playing Timeline 1, continues by playing Timeline 2, and then the end-user presses the rewind button, attempting to go back to a point before the beginning of Timeline 2. The end-user will not be aware that there are 2 timelines so this will be very frustating to them that they have to restart from the beginning and fast-forward to the point that they were previosly trying to rewind to.
There is the End Action that allows you to specify what to link to when the playback reaches the end, I am seeking an equivalent of when reverse reaches the beginning.
There is not way to specify a "prior action" as you wish. The "previous" button on the remote is "previous chapter" (not previous timeline) and rewinding has the same limitation.
Encore does not provide "scripting" which might be able to achieve what you want.
The only ordinary way to do this is to have a single timeline.
While it provides no advantage (or disadvantage) for your current issue, the alternative for linking from one timeline to this next is to use a "playlist."
Thank you Stan Jones for that info.
I am currently using Encore v2 and I have tried using a Playlist, but I immediately encounter the:
Playlist causes "General Error"
In my current project, I can start a Build DVD/DVD Image, and it will completely build the .ISO without any problems. If I just add a new Playlist entry to the project, and don't even add to the Playlist or link to it, it immediatly fails on the Build DVD/DVD Image with a 'General Error'.
Having said that, and getting back to the original question, you are saying that there is not a way in Encore v2 to rewind from Timeline 2 back into Timeline 1?
