How do I create an epub file without being sent to Adobe Digital Editions?

May 2, 2013 8:46 AM

I am trying to create an epub file that can be uploaded to Nook. Until yesterday I could do this with no problem. Now, for some unknown reason, I am being sent to Adobe Digital Editions to VIEW the file.

It has to do with the file associations set up by your operating system. You need to reset the there. What OS are you using?

When you export to EPUB, at the bottom of the EPUB Export Options screen you need to uncheck "View EPUB After Exporting".

The icon on the ePub is just a reader the file is associated with (as Steve said). But your ePub file is there. If you install another reader it might change the icon to that. The red icon might be the application you were using before to open the ePub. Just right click on the file and you can choose other application to open it.

That icon is irrelevant for that.
