How do I add my edited to footage from 1 file to another file so that I can burn it to a singular dvd? I have tried to drop media, add media from file and I get a message saying file not supported or correct codec not installed.  I don't understand that as the 2 separate files play on their own.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    >2 separate files play on their own

Is that PLAY as in play with something like Windows Media Player, or do you mean that both files will individually import into PrElements for editing?

In any event, please provide file details

Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER

What is a CODEC... a Primer

What CODEC is INSIDE that file?

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

    For PC or

    For Mac

To output a standard DV file, use Publish & Share/Computer/AVI to output each segment of your movie.

Then start a new project, using DV project settings, and combine the parts to produce a single DVD.

What files are you talking about? Are these .mts, .avi, .mpg, .wmv files that you have imported and edited in one Premiere Elements project? Or are you referring to the project file known as the project.prel?

You cannot import a project.prel into another project.prel. If you want to combine the content of two or more different project. files, you must export/save the content of that project to file (DV AVI standard or widescreen depending on your project goal - can be discussed further if necessary) to the computer hard drive

Open a new project file with the appropriate DV AVI standard or widescreen project preset and then import all your saved DV AVI standard or widescreen into it for burn to DVD-VIDEO standard or widescreen format on DVD disc.

If you are using Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1, 9.0/9.0.1, or 10 Windows, use of the program ClipMate is an effective way to copy/paste between Premiere Elements project files.

Please review and let us know the outcome.

You cannot directly combine PREL files, but, as Steve G. states, you can Share to an applicable AV file from each Project, and then Import those into a New Project (or into one of the Projects).

    Good luck,
