I have no problem capturing files from my Sony Z5U into Premiere Pro CS6 on my PC via firewire for tapes or importing directly from CF cards recorded on a MRC1. Are you using tape or CF cards and how exactly are you trying to capture or import and what error are you getting?  HDV or DV?

When you created the project you had a choice of DV or HDV.  Did you choose HDV?

Didn't that option go away with PPro2?

Ahh... you meant a choice of 'Capture Format', not 'Project Format'.

    Roger.

Whatever you choose when creating a Project,

you can change it in the Capture window.

Unlike PPro2... you were locked in to DV or HDV.

Technically the same thing except my version is what shows up right away. Yours I suppose you would have to know to look for. For an experienced user - no problem. For a new user, it is better to read each screen as it pops up.
