I am new to Lightroom and would like to know how I add captions to my photos? I have looked in the Help. Read another discussion but what they advise isn't coming up as an option on my screen. I read that there should be an option in the metadata menu. But nothing comes up. Only camera settings and such. Nothing that will let me add my own information. You can only do so much with key words.
The "Caption" box is visible depending on what is set in the top L/H of the "Metadata" panel. It becomes visible if you use any of the following:
2. Exif and IPTC
4. Quick Describe
Thankyou for your reply/ I new to Lightroom so I apologise but I can't even find those options or settings anywhere. People keep metioning them and I keep looking for them, but to no avail. They wouldn't come with the software update would they?
oh my gosh. Thankyou so much! I was clicking on metadata in the filter bar and the toolbar. My key wording menus were expanded so I didn't even see that option.
Thanks a bunch. You're a life saver! Cheers
Personally, I've never been satisfied with Lightroom's default metadata viewing preset.
Consider Jeffrey Friedl's Metadata Viewing Preset Editor, if you want an easy and user-friendly way to customize...
I am new to all this. I am reluctant to change how the software operates until I understnad it better. Besides pdf documents, this is the most I have had to do with Adobe since middle school. I will play around with it some more and see if I am comfortable with it. But I might look into it later.
