How do you apply a master page to multiple documents at the same time?
Select all files in a/the book and Import Formats.
If the files aren't in a common book, make a temporary book for the import

I support www.TheGrotonLine.com, hyperlocal news for Groton MA.
During import, FM will only apply the Left/Right and any custom master pages that have already been applied to the Body pages. If the revised layouts are on differently named Master pages, then you won't see anything happening to the existing page layouts. Check your actual Master Pages to see if the pages were imported.
Thank you for trying to help me out.
Let me explain it a bit to remove the ambiguity.
I have 10 documents nested under a book. Each of these documents have 'n' number of pages. I want to apply my custom made master page "First" to the first page of all these 10 documents in one go. The remaining pages of the documents have to be in default "Right" master page format. How will I do it?
I tried selecting all the documents and importing the formats from another document with the custom made "First" master page. The master page format is getting imported but the first page of all the documents still remain with the default "Right" master page format.
I think now my question is more clear...
> The master page format is getting imported but the first page of all the documents still remain with the default "Right" master page format.
Is some content unique to the first page mapped to master page First in the table at:
View > Reference Pages ... MasterPageMaps
That page and table don't exist by default, by the way.
and are you performing a:
Format > Page Layout > Apply Master Pages
after doing the import?
Sorry, for taking so long.
Thanks for your reply. I could do it using the MasterPageMaps. I had to map the 'unique paragraph tag' in the first page of the document to the 'First' master page and perform Format > Page Layout > Apply Master Pages.
Thanks for helping me out.
