Can't use key commands to set pts in curves, cs6

May 12, 2013 12:55 PM

Is there some way to use the command or option key to set control points within curves. Have to activate the little hand to get to do this. I could use the command key with click to set points I was sampling within image in previous 2 versions. Now have to use the hand, and it's to wiggy. Any thing I haven't seen to use commands?

Hello, Howard. You can still use Command on a Mac to set a control point in the image, with the modal curves adjustment (not the adjustment layer that resides in the properties panel) Or use the Targeted Adjustment Tool (the hand). Did you make the properties panel bigger? Also, if you use the TAT close to a point in the curve, it will auto-select it. Some use ALT for that.

Would it be a useful feature to be able to select whether a Curves adjustment layer opened with the TAT selected?  Or a keyboard shortcut to toggle the TAT?

You can enable Auto-Select Targeted Adjustment Tool in the pop-up menu at top-right of Properties panel when a Curves adjustment layer is targeted.

Hello, Trevor, long time no see. There is no default shortcut for the TAT, but you can set up yours inEdit > Keyboard Shortcuts. Under  “Tools”, scroll down to find “Targeted Adjustment Tool” and enter in your own KBSC!

Correction, it seems that in CS5, it was F5 for the TAT. Not in CS6 anymore.
