When I drop a ps file from the Mac, Distiller is processing two files … the first file errors out, it has the same name as the rest of the file except it start with a '._'
This file creates an error log file, then distiller moves on and process the actual PD_05-10_A001 file … that part seems to be working properly.
Do you think there's a way to avoid the ._ file?

Many Mac files have two parts a data fork and a resource fork. Apple has been trying to encourage developers to avoid using resource forks. In any case, when a Mac file is stored on a PC formatted drive the resource fork is stored as the same name as the original file with a "." preceeding its name. On the Mac OS files starting with a .period are frequently invisible. When you are dragging your ps file on Distiller it is trying to distill not only the data fork but the resource fork as well. This shouldn't usually happen.
What version of Distiller? Where is the file being stored? What file system?
