My client has just informed me that their current dps issue (built in v25) is not playing videos on the desktop content viewer (works fine on iPad). This wasn't a problem with our last issue. Curiously, autoplay videos work fine. It's just the manual play feature on videos that doesn't seem to be functioning. Is this a known problem? Thanks,
Can you be more specific as to what is failing? Video won't load? Overlay is positioned in the wrong location? Other? And... what is the filename extension for your video? (just curious).
Sure - the videos simply don't respond when the user clicks on the play button. Other videos set to auto play are continuing to function properly. Also, all videos function correctly on the actual app - it's just the web viewer versions that aren't set to auto play that are not working. All videos are in mp4 format.
Upon closer inspection, I did realize that there is one unique attribute regarding these videos (there are two that don't play). Inside the layout, they are placed inside a box with a text wrap. Could the text wrap be throwing off the web viewer?
Here is a link to the app, if you'd like to take a closer look:
The video is on the second page of the article above.
Regarding the Firefox issue, the client says it gets a server message saying "This content is not supported in this version of Mozilla Firefox."
It looks like the top of the video is not aligned with the top of the second page. This is causing a rendering issue. We will file a bug on this issue so it can be addressed. To work around the problem in the meantime, make sure that the top of the video overlay in the source video starts vertically at pixel 769 or more. It's a workaround, but at least it should fix the problem for now. I have a couple follow-on questions if you want to email me at mcgreen_at_adobe.com.
