Organizer won't run/crash on start

PSE 10 running on Windows 7.  Never had any trouble before.  Today it won't work.

The first time, launching the program (I have it default to the Organizer view) appeared to do nothing.

I started the Task Manager and saw that it wasn't in the "Applications" tab.  However it was present in the "Processes" tab:

ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe

PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe *32

I killed both of these processes and tried it again.  This time, the Organizer screen came up for a few seconds and then crashed (it didn't make it as far as displaying thumbnails).  Again, both processes appeared but nothing on the "Applications" tab.

I got the same behavior after a reboot.

Any ideas?

Try launching Organizer keeping Shift key pressed. Create a new catalog. If the crash doesn't happen now, turn off media analysis from Edit > Preferences.

    Thanks

While you are in this new catalog, try catalog repair and optimize for the older catalog using File > Catalogs dialog. See if this helps avoiding the crash with the older one?

    Thanks
